Beyond Religion and Belief – The Impact of Sectarianism on Society

December 15, 2021 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Online Workshop

In partnership with the Nil by Mouth Charity and with the support of the Scottish Government, we are hosting a discussion on how employees and employers approach issues around religion and belief in Scotland with a focus on sectarianism and its impact on society.

Sectarianism in Scotland goes far beyond the football terraces and can be found in our homes, communities and workplaces. Nil by Mouth promotes the elimination of sectarian attitudes and behaviours in Scotland with a view to the advancement of greater understanding and respect. Discussion will take place around freedom of speech and the impact of social media on community and workplace relations (Pause B4 U Post), stereotypes and the difference between ‘banter’ and ‘bigotry’.

This event will be delivered via Microsoft Teams and facilitated by Dave Scott, Campaign Director at Nil by Mouth.  It will last around 90 minutes and is open to all who are interested.  Should you or any members of your staff wish to attend, please e-mail Glenda Douglas on glenda@cecascotland.co.uk with details of name, job title and e-mail address.
