Update 12/3/20 – Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 virus and rapidly escalating health concerns as Scotland enters the “Delay” phase, we have taken the decision to cancel this event.
Join us on 26th March in Glasgow to have your chance to listen to and challenge the Construction Industry Training Board Chief Executive and Chair over the future shape of the CITB.
CITB Consensus 2020
During August and September 2020, CECA members will be asked to take part in the triennial vote on the future of CITB. Known as Consensus, the process seeks to ask industry whether it continues to support paying the CITB levy.
CITB CEO, Sarah Beale and CITB Chair, Peter Lauener, wish to engage in direct dialogue with CECA Scotland members and will present the case for their new Business Plan and – consequently – the continuation of the levy.
Help shape the CITBs future
This is your opportunity to listen to the Chief Executive and Chair of the CITB as they share the results of their current Business Plan and outline the objectives of their next Business Plan.
It is your chance to ensure your companies views on the future operation of the CITB heard at the highest level.
The programme for this event will be:
Grahame Barn, CECA Chief Executive, will present an overview of prevailing market conditions, challenges and skills issues facing CECA Scotland members
Sarah Beale, CITB Chief Executive, will present the CITB Business Plan content with both a GB and Scottish focus. This will cover priorities, investment area, pending commissions/interventions etc; career intentions including the emerging joint strategy with SDS; performance / support across Scotland – employer engagement/grants accessed; apprenticeships; specific support for civils.

The event will be held in the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Central, beginning at 1030 and finishing with lunch at 1230.
