“Where’s Your Head At?” Campaign
CECA Scotland are backing a campaign calling for a change in the law to protect mental health in the workplace
The ‘Where’s Your Head At?’ campaign has secured backing from celebrities, mental health charities and politicians and is calling for this change to ensure workplaces and colleges provide mental health first aid in the same way they do physical first aid.
CECA Scotland Chief Executive Grahame Barn said:
“It’s a shocking statistic that every working day, two construction workers take their own life. Mental health is one of the biggest health and safety challenges we face in our sector. A mental health first aider in every workplace could be the step change we need to ensure everyone in our industry recognises the signs and symptoms of work colleagues suffering from stress, anxiety or depression and can start the conversations needed to assist in their recovery”.
