Kilmac’s Bert Hope embarks on Cateran Yomp

Bert Hope, Senior Buyer with CECA Scotland member Kilmac has signed up for the Cateran Yomp, a strenuous 24 hour challenge in Perthshire on 9-10th June 2018.

Bert is raising money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, an organisation which gives a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, veterans and their families.

Bert said: “I am looking to raise at least £2000 for The Soldiers’ Charity so I can help them continue their amazing work. What I’m  asking for you to do, is have everyone in your company donate / sponsor, cry it what you will, £2, That’s right £2. I’m not asking for hundreds of pounds from the companies themselves but from the people that work in them, every little helps. That’s not to say if a company were prepared to donate a larger donation it would come in very handy!”.

“When I first considered this I was amazed at the lack of help our armed forces boys and girls get after they come back from tour. Bloody ridiculous if you ask me, but you haven’t so I won’t rant on about that.”.

Bert and a team of 4 ex-army colleagues  will be walking from Blairgowrie-Spittal of Glenshee, past the Kirkton of Glenisla, through Banff and then back to Blairgowrie. 54 glorious miles and to be done in 24hrs.  Already on an intensive training regime, Bert estimates that even before he starts on the Trek itself, he will have walked for over 150 hours, covering over 500 miles.

We hope you will give Bert your support, which you can do so here:
