The Objectives of the CECA Scotland New Entrant 3 Day Training Programme

The purpose of the Report Writing and Presentation Skills Development Programme is to assist our new entrants to identify and develop an array of skills to help them to develop both written and verbal proficiency with report writing, public speaking, presentation development and use and calculating of financial supporting documentation.

Day 1 (Digital skills) – 28th April ’22

Candidates will learn how to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel effectively to be able to create striking and professional documents and presentations. Screening of candidates accepted on to this course will take place in advance to ensure that the learning provided on the day is appropriate to their existing skill level with;

Day 2 (Communication skills) – 4th May ’22

Learning will hone candidate’s oral and written communication skills. Giving them a firm understanding of visual cues like body language, facial expressions, and posture so that they can speak with confidence and have a better understanding of what the other person may be thinking and feeling.

● Plan and Host Effective Virtual Meetings

 

Day 3 (Closing skills) – 11th May ’22

 Developing candidate’s own style of applying best practice tools to effectively influence and negotiate in person. Learn best practice for writing a compelling bid.

● Effective Influencing skills

● Effective Negotiation Skills

● Write a Compelling Bid 

 

Virtual class delivery takes place predominantly through a variety of the following medium, methods and activity types:

● Lecture and active conversations ● Video clips

● Research & interviews (if applicable) ● Group Work

● Self and formal reflection / action plans. ● Homework reading (if applicable)

Facilitation by skilled trainers will drive meaningful conversations and learning within a safe learning environment. This will accommodate various learning styles, preferences, and abilities while at the same time increasing both memory retention, confidence, and practical skills.

This training programme is aimed at new entrants to the industry (ideally, those who have just joined within the last 3 years) and who are keen to develop their careers further. THIS PROGRAMME IS FREE TO ANYONE WORKING FOR A CECA MEMBER.

There will be a cohort of 20 people accepted on to this course. Each candidate must commit to attending each of the three days.
